Monroe, Seminole County and Early County drew early confidence votes from sportswriters around the state in the first AP Top 10 Poll of the season.
Monroe received seven votes in Class AAAA, while Early County got a vote in Class AA and Seminole County drew the most with 11 in Class A.
CORKY KELL CLASSIC TO BE BROADCAST LIVE ON GPB-TV: The annual Corky Kell Classic kicks off today at 9 a.m. in the Georgia Dome with the first of five games used to traditionally kick off the high school football season around the state.
Of local interest, Colquitt County opens at 2:30 p.m. against North Gwinnett.
All games are being shown live on Georgia Public Television.
