"Albany has two scenic lakes on Dawson Road, both on our major west entrance into Albany, that should be visible to those entering the city. Lake Loretta needs to have the trees along Dawson Road pruned so the lake is fully visible from Dawson Road."

I believe the lakes are private property, not city property and, therefor not elegible for taxpayer assistance.

I say plant more trees, so as to hide Albany's ugliness...............

So that passers-by can see the ugly A$$ color of the water? Only fit for the water fowl, not humans.

Private property and they do not care about more duds coming to Albany. If you are moving here, you are not looking for scenery, more like welfare.

I think if anyone read into what the new city manager just said in his 5 year talk he said the welcome gateways/signs were built without thought of what the cost to maintain them. Basically Mr. Taylor is stuck with a budget that politicians like Mayor Adams and others go out and spend tax money on things that haveto be accounted for in the taxes and budgets for years to come.
Basically we the tax paying citizens of this fine mess of a city have enough to worry about than paying for pruning tree n pruning trees that belong to a privatre lake community.

Yeah amazed, we have the civic center, the baseball park, auditorium, turtle park, Chehaw riverquarium. These are just a few and very little money is ever made off any of them.

Yes and now we have not one but Friggin FOUR welcome to Albany Parks that we must pay for landscaping, electricity, weekly lawncare and various other maintenance cost. What a way to say goodbye to Willie.

They can't afford to prune trees because they spent $400K on those Welcome to Albany signs that could have been done for $100K for all four and probably less. They spend your tax dollars like there will be no tomorrow and now they want to get into Water Gas & Lights checkbook. Once they get their grubby little hands on that checkbook you good folks will be paying out the nose for utilities, BUT that is another soap box.
