ALBANY — The Deerfield softball team beat Highland Christian in four innings on Monday, 16-4.
Kendall Kirkland was the winning pitcher and had four strikeouts in her complete game.
Hannah Mills was 3-for-4 at the plate with a double and five RBI, while Chandler Harris was 2-for-4 with four RBI and Emma Schnieder was 2-for-3.
The Lady Knights (2-4) play again today against Terrell Academy at 4:30 p.m.
SGA SWEEPS: The Lady Warriors won both games of a doubleheader Monday against Valwood.
SGA cruised in the first game, 11-0, in five innings and won the nightcap, 7-2.
Bella Cushing and Allison Houston combined for a two-hitter in the opener, while Madison Jackson (3-for-3, four RBI) and Baylee Everson (2-for-2, three RBI) led SGA at the plate.
In the second game for SGA, Addison Ponder, Allison Warren and Emily Brookins combined for a two-hitter, and Kendyl Carver was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
The Lady Warriors (12-4) play again at 4 p.m. today at Westwood.
