BLAKELY -- Julia May Megahee, 89, died early Thursday morning, August 30, 2012 at the Pioneer Community Hospital of Early in Blakely, Ga. Her funeral will be a graveside service Friday, August 31, 2012 at 4 :00 PM in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Arlington, Ga. with Dr. Gary Hadden officiating. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions should be made to either the American Heart Association or to the Lupus Foundation.
Ms. Megahee was born October 27, 1922 in Arlington, Georgia to the late John David Majors and Sarah Alice Murray Majors. She was a member of the Arlington Baptist Church, a retired hair dresser with J. C. Penny's out of Albany, Ga. and a homemaker. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Majors and by a grandson Timothy Wade Hudson.
Her survivors include 2 daughters: Julianne Hudson of Blakely and Barbara Kineard & husband Rey of Georgetown, Ga. There are 4 sons: Sonny Megahee and wife Janis , Gerald Megahee- all of Blakely, Ga., Jimmy Megahee and wife Faith of Arlington, Ga. and Johnny Megahee of Smithville, Ga. She has 1 brother, David Majors of Arlington, Ga., 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
