This is sure to be a tough pill to swallow for Georgia fans seeing how it ended. It was a hard fought game, but someone had to win and someone had to lose. I imagine the championship game won't be half as exciting in a month.

Spike the ball!!!

Why spike the ball. That's crazy UGA QB was passing to receiver in the end zone. Bama defender deflects the pass and a UGA player catches the ball thinking it's at risk. It wasn't and he should not have. Clock runs out BAMA wins. UGA goes to Capital One Bowl. Go DAWGS. Roll Tide. SEC is awesome. You need to watch more football.

Hindsight is 20-20, as they say. I know they were trying to catch Bama off-guard with that play. It was such a risky play with what was at stake. High risk - high reward, right? I would have liked to see UGA get 2 attempts at the end zone instead of one extremely risky attempt.

Might be the best football game I have ever seen. Good luck to both teams in their respective bowl games.

It wasn't hindsight, 20-20 or otherwise it was a strategy. Murray signaled to Bobo for a spike and Bobo ignored it which means procede with the play. They had Bama on tenderhooks defensively or so they thought. Saban and Kirby Smart are both defensive geniuses. They used the old Irk Russell defense, bend but don't break. They gave UGA the passes downfield but forced them to stay inbound to keep the clock running. Their idea, of course, was to run the clock out. Ours was to cross the goal line. Bobo did not spike the ball and stop the clock for two reasons (at least 2) if the Bama defense was on their heels he didn't want them to have time to re-constitute and re-organize. Secondly he was anticipating the pass to go into the end zone to Mitchell for a score or a over his head stopping the clock for at least one more pass. Both teams had great strategy at that moment. UGA just wasn't calculating the Bama players deflecting the pass. Great game. It was the best I have seen since the 1981 Sugar Bowl when UGA beat Notre Dame 17 to 10. I hope I live long enough to see UGA get to play and win a National Championship Game like we saw in Atlanta on 12/1/12. Really proud of the DAWGS.

We just witnessed the REAL, ACTUAL National Championship Game. I hope all future National Championship games will be on December 1st.

Notre Dame will be cremated by Alabama. Roll Tide.

You did a great job, Georgia! It was an exciting year and this is just the way of life. You are good players and do not let anyone tell you any differently!

Congratulations on a good game, not like the 70-30 something game between Wisconsin & Nebraska. Crazy! I felt Georgia got shorthanded on a couple of calls, but who knows whether they would have made a difference or not. I really thought Alabama would blow Georgia away, but I give the Dawgs credit for making a game out of it. A see saw affair makes things more interesting than a 40 point blowout. I hope the Crimson Tide brings yet another national championship to the SEC to keep the streak alive.

This game was S E C football at its finest but Mark Richt was a just a jerk when it was all over. The question about the Bulldogs and Aaron Murray choking in the big games was a fair one. The statement had been made by commentators on ALL networks all week. For Richt to take his frustration out on a reporter who just wanted his remarks on the statement was unfair. Then, he leaves the room only to return to get his name plate and helmet and storms out Way to go Richt, you acted like a spoiled child....

As you say, statement "made by commentators on ALL networks all week". I am with Richt completely on this one. The media jumps on a horse of its choosing and all ride it into the ground in an attempt to ram it down the throat. I likely would not have been as nice as Mark in response to the ridiculous question.
It was a good game with mistakes made on both sides but a good game no less!

Go on over to espn.com and you can see it. I wish people would answer the questions they are asked. It's a legitimate question when you are 1-11 against ranked teams. And "Yes" everybody talking about sports and the two teams and the key players are talking about it. That being said, Murray played a better game than McCarron in the losing effort.

Richt new as did everybody in the stands that the ball had been tipped. It was a good pass into the endzone to a receiver. The unintended receiver mistakenly caught it thinking the ball was at risk. It was his mistake but a well intnded one. That is what happens in a hotly contested game. GREAT, GREAT game. DAWGS GO to Capital One Bowl. Bama goes to Miami. Roll Tide. Go DAWGS! SEC reigns sumpreme.

didn't see the interview you are referring to but rest assured that if mark richt unloaded on the reporter, the reporter deserved it...

Even though I hate this type of "journalism," it was weak compared to what they do to teams in New York. Those reporters grill coaches and athletes.

More than likely the reporter was half drunk or in the bathroom trying to get picked up. He was not watching the game. The ball was passed to a receiver in the end zone and was tipped anybody in the stadium saw it. The kid was trying to protect a ball at risk. It was all legitimate. It happens BAMA won Roll tide in Miami. DAWGS to CAPITAL one. Go Dawgs. SEC remains supreme. Bama fans were a class act in the dome.

A great game won by one of two outstanding teams. Someone has to win and someone has to lose. This was a game that could have gone either way, and both teams deserved the win. Now in Honor of Riser (Bill) Williams and O'Dell Williams of Penton Alabama (both smiling down from Heaven) "ROLL TIDE"

The best game I have seen in a long time. The National Championship can't be that good.
