Man arrested in aggravated assault

ALBANY, Ga. — One man was arrested in connection with an aggravated assault this weekend after reportedly threatening a woman with two knives, reports from the Albany Police Department show.

Police responded to 1001 Dunes Ave., Lot No. 25, at 2:11 a.m. on Sunday in reference to charges of aggravated assault, terroristic threats and acts, and simple battery. The victims, Johntavius Williams, 21, and Tenneisha Kennedy, 19, said that Ronnie James Salisbury, 55, stood over Kennedy armed with two knives, trying to stab her and threatening her life.

Williams came to stop the suspect from harming Kennedy and struggled with Salisbury to get him away from her, police said.

Salisbury was booked into the Dougherty County Jail. Reports available on the incident do not indicate that there were any injuries.

As long as incidents like this continue, people will not feel safe in Albany. Somehow the Police and Judicial System have to become the deterent they are paid to be. Where people are actually afraid to break the law.
