CORDELE — Crisp Academy’s girls beat Terrell Academy, 47-37, on Monday night, thanks to Madi Mitchell’s 25-point effort. It was the second time this season that Crisp (6-1), the two-time defending GISA Class A champion, beat TAE, which was the state runner-up in Class AA last year.
Jay Jay Yawn (8 points) and Kayla Childers (6 points) followed Mitchell in scoring, while Terrell’s Marilauren Farr led the Lady Eagles (1-3) with 15 points.
Crisp travels to Westwood, which finished second in the state to Crisp the last two years, on Friday for a big region showdown.
RANDOLPH SOUTHERN, BYNE SPLIT: Randolph Southern split with Byne Academy Monday night as the Lady Patriots won, 59-32, and the Patriots fell to Byne, 46-44.
The Lady Patriots (1-2) were led by Alana McCook (18 points) and Parker Rigsby (14), while Byne was led by Heather Horne (18 points) and Elizabeth Boseman (10).
The Byne boys were led by Quinten Sanders and Breland Johnson, who scored 16 each. Randolph Southern (0-1) was led by Jared Sauls (18) and Rhett Ragan (12).
Randolph Southern travels to Ashford Academy in Alabama for a pair of games tonight, beginning at 6 p.m.
