ALBANY, Ga. — Authorities are investigating what led to a death on North Avenue Monday afternoon.
The Dougherty County Police Department, Albany Fire Department, Dougherty County Coroner Emma Quimbley and Dougherty EMS were among those who responded to a report of a deceased person at 2606 North Ave. after the call initially came into dispatch at around 4:30 p.m.
Officials left the scene at about 6 p.m. At that time, investigators with the DCP said there was not anything immediately known about the cause or manner of death. It was not clear at that time whether foul play was involved.
The name of the deceased was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
