SYLVESTER -- Mrs. Gloria McCoy Wesson, 80, of Sylvester died Tuesday December 4, 2012 at her residence. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday December 6, 2012 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery with Dr. Dan Williamson officiating.
Mrs. Wesson was born in Sylvester on February 29, 1932 to the late Homer Seal and Eva Mae Bius McCoy. She was a retired school teacher from the Broward County Board of Education and had lived in Sylvester for the past 25 years. Mrs. Wesson was a member of the First Baptist Church, ABC's and the ByKota Sunday School Class. Mrs. Wesson enjoyed playing cards with her special sisters.
Survivors include her caregivers, William H. (Billy) McCoy & Michelle of Moultrie; grandchildren, Thomas McCoy Wesson and Taylor Wesson both of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; nephews, John F. McCoy & Barbara of Winston Salem, NC, Robert S. McCoy, Sr. & Toni of Moultrie; niece, Anne McCoy Lindell & Ollie of Jessup, and a special great nephew, Jax Fowler.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Wesson was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Jack Elliott Wesson on October 12, 1983, her daughter, Celia Wesson Wilbur on June 30, 2002, and a son, Jack Elliott Wesson, Jr. on September 6, 2007.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:00 AM until service hour at Banks Funeral Home.
