ALBANY, Ga. — Doc Heilinbel’s Pharmacy, a maninstay at 2409 Dawson Road, has been purchased by Rite Aid, according to Heilinbel’s former owner, Chris Cleveland.
Effective Monday, Cleveland became a pharmacist and employee of the drug store giant, working across the street for the Rite Aid at 2400 Dawson Road. According to Eric Harkreader, public relations specialist with Rite Aid Corp., a pharmacy technician has also come to work for Rite Aid.
Cleveland could not be reached for comment Tuesday, but telephone calls to Heilinbel’s have been forwarded to the Dawson Road Rite Aid. According to Betsy Urick, a Rite Aid employee, prescriptions will no longer be filled at the Heilinbel’s location. However, Rite Aid will maintain records of all medications purchased there. She also said she expected the Heilinbel’s gift shop to remain open.
