COLUMBUS — Columbus State outscored the Lady Rams, 45-24, in the second half to cruise to an 80-52 win and drop ASU’s record to 1-3.
Mecca Frost led ASU with 11 points, but the point guard also turned the ball over 10 times. As a team, the Lady Rams turned the ball over 24 times.
Lady Rams leading scorer and former Bainbridge star April Thomas was held to 3-for-9 from the field and 1-for-7 from 3-point range and scored just seven points, while Kedeemya Cooper added 10 points and seven rebounds.
The Lady Rams play again at 4 p.m. Saturday at Florida Tech.
CENTRAL GEORGIA TECH WOMEN 71, ALBANY TECH 66: The Lady Titans gave up an eight-point lead in the second half to lose Wednesday’s Region XVII game.
Albany Tech (8-4, 2-2 Region XVII), which was led by Lashay Lettingham (24 points) and Ashley Towns (16 points), plays again Saturday at Middle Georgia.
CENTRAL GEORGIA TECH MEN 58, ALBANY TECH 57: Tony Fears missed a game-winner at the buzzer, and the Titans, who were led by Antwon Tuff’s 16 points, fell to 2-7 overall and 0-3 in Region XVII.
