CUTHBERT -- William Louis Ragan, 83, of Shellman, GA died Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital after a short Illness. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 7, 2012 at 11:00 am, at the First Baptist Church In Shellman, GA with Interment to follow In the Eastview Cemetery in Shellman with the Dr. Bruce Pittman and Rev Chris Wade officiating.

Mr, Ragan was born in Coleman, GA on June 16,1929 to the late Carey and Dolie Ragan. He was retired from Interstate Life Insurance Company and had lived in Shellman most of his life, Mr. Ragan was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Shellman, GA where he was a member of the Shellman Christian Brotherhood and the Men's Sunday School Class. Despite losing his eye sight in 1967 he enjoyed walking and listening to talking books for the blind, and spending time with his wife, Brenda.

Mr. Ragan is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Ragan of Shellman, a son Bill Ragan (Rene') of Flagstaff, AR a daughter Sue Ragan of Denver, CO and a special Daughter Jennifer Henson, also of Denver, CO; three grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and six great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a loving aunt, Jean Davis of Edison, GA.

Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Jeanette Baldwin and brother Jarrett Ragan.

The family will recleve friends at the fellowship hall of the First Baptist Church of Shellman, Thursday night December 6, 2012 from 6-8 PM.
