BLAKELY -- Wilvern Kenneth Craft, Sr., 85, died early Friday morning, December 7, 2012 at his residence in Damascus, GA. His funeral will be a graveside service Sunday, December 9, 2012 at 4:30 PM in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Arlington, GA with Hospice Chaplain Rev. Andy Glover officiating.
The family will receive friends from 3 PM until 4 PM at Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral home in Blakely, before the graveside in Oak Grove at 4:30 PM.
Mr. Craft was born June 23, 1927 in Baker County to the late Early Beldsoe Craft and Myrtle Lee Killebrew Craft. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Arlington Baptist Church.
His survivors include his wife, Bernice Newberry Craft of Damascus, GA; a daughter, Nancy Heard and husband Jerry (Joe) Heard, Sr. of Newton, GA; two sons, Ken Craft and wife Phyllis of Damascus, GA and Tim Craft and wife Jill of Blakely, GA; two sisters, Ann Newberry of Arlington and Jeanene Shadburn of Albany; two brothers, Wayne Craft and wife Olive and Melvin Craft and wife Betty Jean- all of Albany; there are seven grandchildren, Jerry Heard, Jr. & Tammy of Damascus, GA, Jeff Heard & Janna of Newton, GA, Karen League & Jim of Toccoa, GA, Holley Jaakkola & Juha of Savannah, GA, Brooke Odom & Louette of Arlington, GA, Cale Craft and Kayla, both of Damascus, GA; there are also eleven great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. The family also wants to mention 3 wonderful caregivers that looked after Mr. Craft, Dale Craft, Brenda Brossman and Becky Butler.
