ALBANY — The Georgia Chamber of Commerce is offering an informational webinar for business owners, designed to help prepare for health care reform within the Affordable Healthcare Act, also known as “Obamacare.”
According to the Georgia Chamber, “Federal Healthcare Reform: What Your Business Needs to Know” will be presented Dec. 11 from noon-1 p.m. by Katie Mahoney, executive director of Health Policy for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
“The new federal health care law is one of the most important matters that businesses will be facing over the next year,” said Chris Clark, president and CEO of the Georgia Chamber. “Now that the election is behind us and we know these mandates are heading our way, it’s essential we help businesses start thinking about what they need to do today to be prepared for the future.”
The Georgia Chamber said the webinar will provide the most up-to-date information about health care reform and what business may expect for the future. Explored will be specific regulations and mandates included in the health care act and areas of greatest concern to businesses. While the act will take full effect in 2014, certain choices should be made in 2013.
Included in the webinar will be the ins and outs of the most critical provision for business, the employer mandate; state health care insurance exchange options and their impact on employers; recent deadline changes and regulatory activity, and what employers should be thinking about today in order to prepare for the future.
Registration for the webinar is $25 for members or $75 for non-members and group presentations. Registration may be made at www.gachamber.com/events.
