Justin Korona, 23, was cited by a Georgia State Patrol trooper Tuesday after he rolled a 2003 Toyota Tacoma on Whispering Pines Road at 8:30 p.m. Monday. Korona ran from the crash and turned himself in Tuesday morning, a trooper said.
Korona was cited for failure to maintain lane, said GSP Cpl. Andrew McKenzie. There was no indication at the crash that alcohol or drugs were involved in the crash, he added.
According to McKenzie: Korona lost control of his pickup near Groveland Road, jumped the curb, knocked over a stop sign and a street sign until the pickup rested on its side in a resident’s front yard.
When Korona got out of the truck, he asked residents to help him right the truck so he could drive it away, McKenzie said neighbors at the scene told him. Korona family members showed up at the scene after Justin Korona ran away, McKenzie added.
