SYLVESTER -- The funeral services for the late Mr. Eddie Gene Collier of 304-B N. East Street, Sylvester, Georgia, who departed this life on Monday, December 10, 2012 at Phoebe Worth Medical Center in Sylvester, Georgia, will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. from the Shipp's Funeral Home Chapel in Sylvester, Georgia, with the Reverend Terrell Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the Shepard Memorial Garden in Sylvester, Georgia.

Mr. Eddie Gene Collier was born January 6, 1944 in Worth County, Georgia.

He was educated in the Worth County Public School System, and graduated from J. W. Holley High School in 1963.

At an early age, he joined the Saint Paul Baptist Church in Isabella, Georgia.

After graduation from high school, Eddie served in the United States Army for several years.

After his service in the Army, Eddie became a professional truck driver until his health began to fail.

He leaves to cherish his memories three daughters, Demishia Wooden, Shakinah Brown, Alicia Brown, all of Sylvester, GA; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Annie P. (Edgar) Green, Georgia Collier, both of Sylvester, Ga.; two brothers, William Henry (Mary) Collier of Albany, Ga., Mackey Roy (Connie) Collier of Sylvester, Georgia; brother-in-law, Sonny Walker of Ashburn, Georgia; uncle, Theo Cisrow of Trenton, NJ
