ALBANY, Ga. -- A father, enraged about missing "some loose change," choked his wife, reached for a gun but had his vengeance cut short when his daughter stabbed him during a fight, according to a Dougherty County Police Department report.
Samuel Williams, 36, was charged with family violence and battery, the report stated. The report also said that Williams was drinking before the incident at the family's 3205 Sylvester Ave. residence at about 11:45 p.m. Thursday.
"The fight started about his son (reportedly) stealing some money," county police Sgt. Chad Kirkpatrick said. "(Williams) grabbed his wife, pinned her to the floor, choked her and then grabbed his daughter."
In the struggle, Williams tried to break the glass on a gun cabinet and get a firearm, Kirkpatrick said. When Williams reached for the gun, his daughter broke free, ran to the kitchen, got a knife and stabbed her father in the lower back, a report on the incident said.
After she stabbed him, the daughter ran to a neighbor's house and called 911, the report stated. Williams was taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital and was released by Friday, a hospital spokeswoman confirmed.
