ALBANY — A Crime Stoppers tip has assisted the Albany Police Department Robbery/Homicide Unit with the arrest of someone believed to be connected to an assault that occurred earlier this year at an Albany nightspot.
William Cameron Sizemore was taken into custody at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Thursday in Eastman. He was held there temporarily until he could be transported from the Dodge County Sheriff's Office jail facility to Albany on Friday morning, officials with the APD said.
Sizemore was wanted in connection to a fight that occurred at approximately 3 a.m. on June 23 in the parking lot at 2401 Dawson Road, the site of Charly B's Sports Bar and Grill.
The victim, Jaylon Edwards, 31, sustained a head injury as a result of the altercation, reports show.
Initial reports on the incident said that Edwards suffered the head injury when three men jumped out of a white van and assaulted him in the parking lot of the establishment, striking him over the head with an unknown object.
After the men fled, Edwards reportedly returned home and complained to his family that his head was hurting and was taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Police also initially sought out Shawn Penney, Jeremy Baer and Steven Hatcher for questioning in connection to the incident. All three men came into the APD Law Enforcement Center on June 27 along with Sean Marney to discuss the assault with detectives.
The interviews that followed resulted in Marney's arrest, who was charged with aggravated battery and aggravated assault in connection to the incident.
Sizemore did not report to police that day.
