ALBANY -- Mr. Curtis Lynn Clark, 87, of Albany died Friday, December 28, 2012 at Palmyra Nursing Home.
Funeral service will be held Monday 1:00 PM at Kimbrell-Stern. Interment will follow at Pitts City Cemetery in Pitts, GA.
Born in Wilcox County, Mr. Clark was a Navy Veteran of World War II after the war he moved back to Pitts and then to Albany. He was retired from Viking Distillery after 35 years as the Bottling Line Foreman. After retirement he and Brother Kealous went together Farming a large garden at Clarks Service Station on Moultrie Rd. They were known throughout Dougherty County for the Large Beautiful Collards, peas, Butterbeans and Okra.
After his wife passed away in 2003 He stopped Gardening. Came from a family of Fisherman, Mr. Clark loved to fish, teaching his children and grandchildren the sport and how to wade in water and fish.
Mr. Clark loved his grandchildren. He would walk them, ride them, swing them and spoil them. Then send them home to Mama's and Daddy's and laugh about it.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 41 yrs. Lou Ellen Clark two grandsons Rod Barwick, Rusty Barwick; a great-grandson Anthony Tucker II; a brothers J. W. Clark and Lanier Clark.
He is survived by his children Marsha Lazenby and her husband Tom, Martha Stevens and her husband Bobby, Steve Webb and his friend Margaret, Louie Baggett and his friend Charlotte and Dennis Baggett and his wife Debbie. 8 grandchildren Reed Barwick, Andy Tucker, Monica Thibodaux, Floyd Steve Webb Jr., Kristy Wood, Cody Baggett, Casey Baggett, Yancy Baggett; 12 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; two brothers Kealous Clark and Wilbur Clark and his wife Linda; sisters Bobbie Metts and husband Louis, Mildred Raper and Diane McDonald and husband Vernon.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Kimbrell-Stern.
