A man who reported being shot in the hand during an armed robbery lied about the shooting location, an Albany Police Department official said.
Wesley Williams, 34, was booked into Dougherty County Jail Wednesday for making a false report about the January 23 robbery.
After viewing surveillance video police determined that Williams was not shot at a Woodall's gas station on the 1500 block of North Slappey Boulevard during a robbery. No further information was immediately available.
