ALBANY — The Albany State men’s and women’s basketball teams both lost home contests to conference foe Stillman on Thursday.
The Rams (8-10 overall, 7-9 in conference) were outscored by 10 points after going into halftime tied, 33-33.
ASU was led by Justin Wilcox with 13 points, but no other Ram cracked double figures.
The ASU women, meanwhile, also lost by 10 points, 61-51, to the Lady Tigers, who led comfortably at halftime, 35-26, and maintained that margin throughout the second.
The Lady Rams (7-12, 7-8) were led by former Bainbridge star April Thomas (19 points) and Symone Wilkerson (10 points, 10 rebounds).
Both ASU squads are back in action Saturday at home against Tuskegee.
EAST GEORGIA PAYS BACK ALBANY TECH WITH SWEEP: Just three days after the Titans and Lady Titans beat East Georgia at home, they found themselves on the wrong end of the rematch Thursday.
The ATC men fell, 73-70, in overtime after failing to convert on a wide-open shot with a second left, then missing a tip in for the win.
Ex-Worth star Jamorris Gaines (18 points, eight boards), led the way for Albany Tech, which fell to 13-12 overall and 7-6 in Region XVII. Ex-Westover stars Kenji Breedlove added 14 points and Terrance Noel scored 10.
The Lady Titans (15-9, 7-6), meanwhile, squandered a nine-point halftime lead and lost, 62-58. Shakima Wiggins was the only double-figure scorer with 22 points.
Both ATC teams get back on the court Monday at Middle Georgia.
