ALBANY, Ga.

Joann Clipper is in Dougherty County Jail with no bail set, charged with aggravated assault and aggravated battery in connection with a Tuesday domestic, a jail spokeswoman said.

Ernest Ward is in fair condition at the Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Augusta, said a hospital spokeswoman.

A fight between a 63-year-old Ward and a 65-year-old Clipper at their residence injured both of them and brought police, ambulances and firefighters to 955 South St. before 6:35 p.m. Tuesday, a police official said.

Initial reports on Tuesday said, Ward hit Clipper over the head with an unidentified object. Then Clipper then poured boiling water on the man. He fled and she set the house on fire.

The case is under investigation and more details could be disclosed.

The man was taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for treatment of his burns, Phyllis Banks, police spokeswoman said. He was then taken to the burn center in Augusta. Clipper was treated at the scene and refused to be taken to the hospital, she added.

Albany Fire Department firefighters put the fire out quickly. They also ventilated smoke from the building.

A neighbor, who did not want his name used, said that the couple had been fighting since the morning.

“They have been at it since I guess 8 a.m. when I went to work,” the neighbor said. “I saw smoke coming out of the window before the fire trucks came.”

No further information was immediately available.

This would have made a great storyline for the WWE. Albany's own streetfight match. The best part is they wouldn't have had to fake it.

When you mess with someone, remember the old saying "You have got to sleep sometime"

Guess they can tell their story to Willie Weaver. Or was no arrest made because they both hit each other? Weaver's wife should take notice, next time hit him with a beer bottle too.
