ALBANY, Ga. -- A patrol car with its blue lights flashing and siren wailing chased a speeding gold-colored Cadillac Eldorado down the 900 block of West Oglethorpe Boulevard about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, stated an Albany Police Department report.
According to the report, the driver of the 1997 Cadillac tried to ram the patrol car, smashing into it on the third try. The Cadillac then hit a mailbox and wrecked on the 2400 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. The driver and a passenger ran away from the crash, leaving the Cadillac in gear.
The empty Cadillac struck a parked tractor-trailer rig. No injuries were reported, the report added.
Police are asking for the community's help in finding David Irvin Harper in connection with this speeding and reckless driving case, said Phyllis Banks, police spokeswoman.
Banks described Harper as 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighing about 190 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black shirt and black pants.
