Deputy PAO taking LOGCOM position

MCLB-ALBANY, Ga. — Colie Young, the deputy public affairs officer for Marine Corps Logistics Base-Albany, is accepting a position with the tenant command of the installation.

Young has accepted a position at the communications office for Marine Corps Logistics Command and will be leaving his position with the base public affairs office effective Feb. 24.

“A wonderful opportunity opened up in the Command Communication Office (CCO) within the Marine Corps Logistics Command and I was fortunate enough to compete and get the position,” Young said in a statement. “The mission of the CCO is similar to that of the (public affairs office), in that it is communication-driven. I am excited at the opportunity to advance my career and am happy to be able to still work with the outstanding Marine and civilian-Marine workforce here in Albany.

“I hope to maintain a close working relationship with the professionals at the base public affairs office as well as those media professionals in the local community.”

He has been with the public affairs office since September 2005.

So, the base has basically has at least two public affairs offices. Does this make sense to you? Nothing like getting more money for doing the same work. The base structure with its hosts and tenants which are pretty much the same people called different things is little more than a jobs program.

I hope you never need to get in touch with the PAO at the MCLB. I did one time and it was a bust so I got in touch with the PAO at Moody AFB in Valdosta and had immediate results. Goooooooo Moody!!!!!!!!!! Gooooooooooooooo AF!!!!!!!!!!!
