ALBANY, Ga. -- Troy University will mark its 125th anniversary with a worldwide celebration Feb. 24, and the school's Albany campus is planning a celebration of its own.
The Albany campus has planned an open house birthday kickoff for prospective students and the community on Feb. 21 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Birthday cake and the blowing out of the candles will take place at 1 p.m. Feb. 24. The four Alabama campuses and sites and locations worldwide will join in a simultaneous celebration.
The Albany campus offers traditional and non-traditional methods of classroom instruction, including day and evening classes as well as online courses.
Today, site offerings also include the master of science in post secondary education, bachelor of science in psychology and bachelor of science business administration.
"We are proud to offer both in-class instruction and access to Troy University's online programs," said Latonya Peterson. "Distance learning offers students who work or have conflicting schedules a chance to fulfill their academic goals by lifting barriers of distance and time."
Troy University's local campus is located at 321 William Jr. St. (behind Harvey's on Slappey Boulevard in the former Owen's Building next to the old Carmike Theater).
