ALBANY -- Wilson Crews Barber, 68, of Huntsville, AL, formerly of Lee Co., GA, died Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Huntsville Hospital, Huntsville, AL. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Leesburg Cemetery. Rev. Joey Cannon and Rev. Bobby Moye will officiate.

Born at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital to the late Francis Marion Barber and Dorothy Crews Barber, Mr. Barber grew up in Lee Co at Philema, GA and was a member of Leesburg Baptist Church. He graduated from Lee Co. High School in 1961 as Valedictorian and was an honor graduate at the University of Georgia where he majored in Food Science and minored in Chemistry.

Mr. Barber was employed with the United States Agricultural Department in Washington, DC, Firestone Tire and Rubber Company, and was currently self-employed.

Survivors include four children, Wilson Crews Barber, Jr. of Lee County, GA, David E. Barber and his wife Dillyn of Sylvester, GA, Christopher Barber and Michael Barber of WV; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Barber Arwood-Joiner and her husband Clifford Harris Joiner of Doerun, GA and Dorothy Barber Upchurch and her husband Allen of Winston-Salem, NC; one brother, Francis (Frank) Marion Barber, Jr. and his wife Maryann of Miami, FL; and four grandchildren.

The family will be at the residence of Mary F. Barber Arwood-Joiner of Doerun, GA.
