ALBANY -- Mr. Leon Gibson, 57, of Albany died on February 4, 2012 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held February 12, 2012 at Oakridge Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Rev. Ervin Peterson will officiate. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. Mr. Gibson was a graduate of Monroe High School.
Survivors: one daughter, Jlea Gibson ofBrooklyn, NY; mother, Annie Ruth Harris Gibson of Albany; seven brothers: Leonard (Tracy)of Albany, James, Jr. of Hackensack, NJ, Herman of Newton, Alfonso, Edward, and Victor all of Albany, Robert "Bobby" of Monticello, FL; four sisters: Verna Ruth (Jimmy) Williams of Montgomery, AL, Mamie Alice Gibson and Tara Aliecia of Albany, and Harriet Ann Gibson of Montgomery, AL; nieces and nephews, a host of other relatives and friends; two devoted friends, Rev. Ervin (Debra) Peterson and Milton (Mary) Grant.
