Police/Fire/EMS - Feb. 15, 2012

ALBANY, Ga. -- Albany police responded to at least 25 incidents Monday into the early hours of Tuesday, according to available reports. Police responded to incidents including:

-- Recovered property: A bag of marijuana found on a cashier's counter by a man cleaning up in Walgreens on the 300 block of North Slappey Boulevard and a stationary exercise bicycle found on the 2000 block of Gail Avenue;

-- Disorderly conduct on the 400 block of West Oglethorpe Boulevard, the 600 block of Tulsa Lane, the 600 block of South McKinley Street and the 100 block of North Haley Street;

-- Burglaries on the 2600 block of Crossbow Court and the 600 block of Medlock Avenue;

-- Identity fraud on the 2500 block of Buckingham Court;

-- Motor vehicle thefts on the 400 block of West Mercer Avenue and the 1100 block of East Oglethorpe Boulevard;

-- Harassing phone calls on the 700 block of Georgetown Road;

-- Criminal trespass on the 500 block of Landings Lane and the 300 block of Barton Avenue;

-- Child abuse on the 2000 block of Gary Avenue;

-- Acquiring gas without paying on the 2800 block of North Slappey Boulevard;

-- Injured person on the 1300 block of McKinley Street;

-- Assault (domestic) on the 900 block of 20th Avenue;

-- Domestic disturbance (unfounded) on the 700 block of Mobile Avenue.

LEE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE: The Lee County Sheriff's Office responded to at least 38 calls over the weekend and Monday. Deputies responded to incidents including:

-- Road hazard, dead deer on the 1100 block of U.S. Highway 82;

-- Abandoned green Ford Explorer on the 1300 block of U.S. Highway 82;

-- Terroristic threats on the 800 block of Philema Road;

-- Domestic disturbances on the 100 block of Kristen Court, the 700 block of Murphy Road and the 2800 block of U.S. Highway 19;

-- Vehicle crashes involving deer on the 1100 block of U.S. Highway 82, the 700 block of State Highway 100 and the 600 block of Forester Parkway.

Thank you, law enforcement, for attempting to take care of us. It is sad you have to respond to so many calls that are needless because a certain class of individuals are not intelligent enough to avoid domestic violence and making terroristic threats. These individuals do not have anything else to do but be sorry and abusive to others who try to live morally clean and decent lives.
