The American Cancer Society’s 5th annual HOPE Ball was held on Feb. 4 at the Hilton Garden Inn and was a huge success. This year’s gala raised a record amount of $78,622.65. The 2012 Hope Ball Committee would like to thank the many individuals who helped to make this year’s event such a tremendous success. The funds raised this year will aid the ACS in their many programs and services that have helped numerous families in the Albany and surrounding areas. The current economic climate makes fundraising more challenging for everybody, and we are continually inspired by the generosity of those in our community who came forward to help us exceed our goals.
Whether it was those who sponsored our event, donated items for our auctions, offered services for the evening or guests who attended this year’s gala, each and every one of you have played a major role in the fight against cancer. We have all been affected by this terrible disease with our own fight or the fight of those we know and love. It is only through the generous spirit of people such as you that we continue this battle. Each and every year we see new advances being made in research that continues to give HOPE to those who are in a fight for their lives.
We would also like to thank this year’s honoree, Eric Venable, for his commitment to the mission of the ACS and the many hours of work he put forth in making this year’s event a success. Along with our thanks, we send our love and well wishes to Eric and his family.
We look forward to the 2013 ACS HOPE Ball and invite you to join us for another wonderful evening to raise awareness, provide support and give cancer patients something that is invaluable — HOPE!
With heartfelt appreciation,
