Police/Fire/EMS report for Feb. 21, 2012

ALBANY — The Albany Police Department responded to at least 70 incidents Saturday, Sunday and into the early hours of Monday. The reports included:

— Battery on 1300 block of Gail Avenue;

— Criminal trespass on the 200 block of Cordele Road and on the 400 block of Dorsett Avenue;

— Theft by taking on the 1600 block of Gadsden Drive and on the 700 block of Muse Avenue;

— Child molestation call on the 700 block of Mobile Avenue and on the 2000 block of East Broad Avenue;

— Wanted person on the 800 block of West Gordon Avenue;

— Simple battery on the 900 block of West Whitney Avenue;

— Domestic violence, assault on the 700 block of West Oglethorpe Boulevard;

— Burglary on the 1600 block of Gail Avenue and on the 300 block of Slater King Drive;

— Terroristic threats and acts on the 3500 block of West Surrey Road;

— Domestic dispute (unfounded) on the 1100 block of Avalon Avenue and on the 1400 block of Palmyra Road;

— Vandalism on the 1200 block of East Fourth Avenue and on the 900 block of Willow Wood Drive;

— Assault on the 200 block of Pinson Road and on the 1100 block of Swift Street;

— Unruly child on the 800 block of Crawford Drive;

— Harassing phone calls on the 100 block of Thornton Drive;

— Open container on the 1100 block of Baker Avenue;

— Injured person on the 800 block of Willie Pitts Jr. Road and on the 900 block of Lippitt Drive;

— Disorderly conduct on the 200 block of Ebony Lane and on the 300 block of Grant Place;

— Domestic dispute on the 400 block of Dorsett Avenue;

— Deceased person on the 400 block of Flint Avenue;

— Robbery by snatching on the 1700 block of Clark Avenue;

— Motor vehicle theft on the 1400 block of East Society Avenue and on the 2300 block of Meadowbrook Lane;

— Theft by shoplifting on the 1000 block of North Slappey Boulevard and on the 400 block of South Slappey Boulevard;

— Driving on a suspended license on the 100 block of North Slappey Boulevard and at East Oakridge Drive and Vick Street;

— Driving under the influence on the 1700 block of East Oglethorpe Boulevard;

— Suicide attempt on the 1600 block of Pineview Avenue;

— Simple battery, domestic violence on the 400 block Medlock Avenue and on the 700 block of Crawford Drive;

— Entering auto on the 200 block of East Oglethorpe Boulevard and on the 400 block of Ebony Lane;

— Assault, false imprisonment on the 1400 block of Ebony Lane;

— Aggressive driving on the 200 block of West Broad Avenue;

— Cruelty to a child in the 1st degree on the 1700 block of Schley Avenue. On either Friday or Saturday morning, a 16-year-old burned an 8-year-old. The case was turned over to the family protection unit.

— Acquisition of gasoline without payment on the 2700 block of Gillionville Road.

DOUGHERTY POLICE: The Dougherty County Police Department responded to at least 28 calls Saturday and Sunday. The reports included:

— Traffic accident on the 1300 block of Louise Street and at Van Cise Lane and Winifred Road;

— Traffic arrest on the 400 block of Cordele Road;

— Theft on the 600 block of Holly Drive;

— Family violence (verbal) on the 600 block of Heartwood Lane and on the 3200 block of Staton Drive.

ALBANY FIRE: The Albany Fire Department responded to at least 50 calls Thursday through the early hours of Monday. The reports included EMS assistance, damaged electrical lines, a vehicle fire, unauthorized burnings, a trash fire, gas odors, vehicle accidents and several activated alarms.

DOUGHERTY EMS: The Dougherty EMS team responded to 53 calls on Sunday. There were 35 medical calls, 17 trauma calls and one “other” type call.

Of the medical calls, five were for chest pain, three were for respiratory issues, three were for diabetic issues, four were seizure calls, four were mental health calls, two were miscellaneous pain calls, two were for possible stroke symptoms and 12 were various medical calls.

Of the trauma calls, seven were for auto accident victims, two were for falls, one was for a fight, one was for an eye injury and six other trauma calls. The “other” type call was for a medical alert activation.
