Albany Technical College students, from left, Vanessa Wright, Kayla Robinson and Arthur Love recently earned placements in the State DECA competition in Valdosta. Wright placed second in Prepared Business Plan/Entrepreneurship while Robinson and Love finished first in website design. All three will compete in the International Career Development Conference in Salt Lake City in April.
ALBANY -- Three students at Albany Technical College received placements at the State DECA Competition recently in Valdosta.
These placements have earned these students the right to compete at the International Career Development Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah in April.
The winning students included Arthur Love and Kayla Robinson, who placed first in website design, and Vanessa Wright, who placed second in Prepared Business Plan/Entrepreneurship.
Other Albany Tech students who competed included: Phyllis Ward (HR Management Competition); Michael Fowler (Restaurant and Food Management); and Stefon Gassaway (Prepared Business Plan/Entrepreneurship).
DECA's mission is to prepare emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. For more information about DECA, visit www.deca.org.
