Interstate 'Samaritan' takes off with two children (2 p.m. update)

DECATUR, Ga. (AP) — UPDATE (2 P.M.) Two toddlers reported kidnapped early Wednesday morning have been found safe, authorities said.

Details are not available about where and how Jalen Mattison, 3, and Amari Mattison, 1, were located, nearly 12 hours after they had been taken from their mother in DeKalb County.

Earlier:

Authorities in the Atlanta area say they are searching for two children who were reported kidnapped after a stranger offered to help the family when their car broke down on the side of an interstate highway.

DeKalb County police say the car broke down early Wednesday and a stranger stopped to help. As the mother was making arrangements for a tow truck, the stranger drove off with the children in a 2000 to 2005 green Jeep Cherokee.

The two children are identified as 3-year-old Jalen Mattison and 1-year-old Amari Mattison.

Police say the mother does not know the suspect.

I PRAY THAT GOD WATCHES OVER THESE BABIES AND BRINGS THEM BACK HOME TO THEIR MOTHER. THERE'S A SPECIAL PLACE IN HELL FOR THIS KIDNAPPER.

Glad the children are safe but I am wondering what the kidnapper felt he gained by doing this.
