UPDATE: Amy Mein was found and booked into Dougherty County Jail today for breaking the conditions of her bond. Mein was out on bond facing several drug charges.

ALBANY, Ga. -- In an impassioned telephone call, a woman said she fears "foul play" because her son's significant other has not been seen since Sunday.

Sandra Jones has not heard from 23-year-old Amy Mein, her son's significant other and the mother of her two grandchildren, since Sunday, she said.

"It isn't like her. I have custody of the children but she always calls and comes over to see them," Jones said. "She and my son have lived together for five years. She has been clean for six months."

Jones said she called the Albany Police Department about Mein's disappearance Tuesday at about 7 p.m. Mein and Jones' son, 31-year-old Byron A. Braley, have two children, a 2-year-old boy and a 5-year-old girl, she added.

According to Jones, her last contact with Mein, a 120-pound, 5-foot-8-inch, brunette with brown eyes, was Sunday. Jones said Mein called to tell her that her car had broken down.

Police would like anyone with any knowledge of Mein or her whereabouts to call them at (229) 431-2100 or (229) 431-3288.

Think about where she may have gone to use..Relapses in sobriety often happen early in the recovery process. She may have gone to ground and is back out. Addicts can be very elusive and difficult to find and the enablers are the worst for hiding them in plain sight.

This quote is the thing that upsets me the most:

"I have custody of the children but she always calls and comes over to see them," Jones said.

This is what is wrong with our society now. Too many grandparents raising their children's kids. I'm glad that she was there to take custody of her grandchildren, but there are so many other cases where children are being exposed to drug use and crime at too young of an age.

It feels like an entire generation is slipping away.
