ALBANY -- A Camilla man was arrested after a wreck in East Albany just before 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Frank S. Twitty Jr., 76, of Camilla, was driving a 2006 green Toyota Avalon. An unknown black male was driving a 2000 silver Volvo S80, with Jamal Clyde, 29, sitting in the passenger's seat.
Twitty's vehicle was traveling west on Clark Avenue, while the Volvo was traveling south on the Liberty Expressway exit ramp to Clark Avenue.
The Volvo had a green light to turn left onto Clark Avenue, and Twitty was attempting to turn left onto the entrance ramp of the expressway.
Twitty crossed the concrete median and struck the Volvo on the driver's side rear passenger door.
Twitty was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, improper left turn and failure to maintain lane.
The driver of the Volvo fled the scene on foot because he was unlicensed. Charges are pending against the driver of that vehicle for having no driver's license and hit and run.
