AMERICUS -- Deacon Joe Hilton Franklin, Sr. of Plains died on December 31, 2011 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on January 4, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Lebanon Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery.
