ALBANY -- A man convicted in August of killing Roosevelt Cooley in a downtown crash has been ordered to serve 10 years of a 20 year sentence, officials say.
Terry Roberson was indicted on more than 15 charges, including two felony counts of vehicular homicide and one felony count of leaving the scene of an accident after striking Cooley at the intersection of Oglethorpe Boulevard and Jefferson Street in 2010.
Roberson was sentenced Tuesday by Chief Dougherty Superior Court Judge Willie Lockette to 20 years in state prison, with 10 years to serve.
Chief Assistant District Attorney Heather Lanier said that prosecutors believe a second, unknown vehicle was involved in the crash and are asking anyone with any knowledge of the accident to call Albany Crimestoppers at (229) 436-TIPS.
