ALBANY -- Ruth Butzin Schultz Ohmart, 95 of Albany, GA died peacefully at home on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011 following a lengthly period of declining health.
Her remains have been cremated and a memorial service will take place on Tuesday (Today), Jan. 3 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church. Pastor Earl Steffens will officiate.
Ruth was born in Peru, Indiana of December 21, 1916 to George and Mannie Butzin and spent much of her life there. She had been a resident of Albany since 1966 and was retired from J.C. Penney's. She was predeceased by her husband's, Arthur Schltz and Ben Ohmart and by her son, James Schultz as well as one brother, Herman Butzin and her sister Helen Sease.
She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Arleen Schultz and Vickie Omhart (Tim Barfield), all of Albany, three grandsons, Benjamin (Mayomi) Ohmart of Kyoto, Japan, James (Beth) Schultz of Lafontaine, Indiana and Jody (Kim) Schulta of Leesburg and a brother George Butzin of Kokomo, Indiaan. Also surviving are five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and some old friends from Peru. She was formerly a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Peru. Ruth also leaves behind two "daughters", Jan Walker and Vickie Evans who were very special to her and who provided her with loyal friend ship through the last years of her life.
