ALBANY Firefighters take a break from extinguishing a fire that burned through the kitchen of an unoccupied, locked and boarded-up house at 612 Cherry Ave. around 10:25 a.m. Wednesday. Firefighters put the fire out. The cause of the fire was unknown and
remains under investigation. While investigating the fire, firefighters noticed an illegal electrical connection to the meter box
at the rear of the house and informed the Albany Water, Gas & Light Commission.
