SYLVESTER -- Mrs. Wilma J. Loyd, 71, of Oakfield died Tuesday January 3, 2012 at the Willson Hospice House in Albany.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday January 5, 2012 at the Red Oak Baptist Church with interment to follow in the Church Cemetery with Rev. John Powell, Rev. Ray Burnette and Rev. Glenn Hobby officiating.
Mrs. Loyd was born on July 16, 1940 in Mitchell County to the late Jeptha Newell and Gladys Mildred McMillan Curles. She has lived in Worth County since 1978 and was retired from Merck Chemical Company after 26 years. Mrs. Loyd was a member of the Red Oak Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, David Loyd of Oakfield, sons; David Loyd, Jr. (Patty) of Truman, AR, J.I. Loyd (Angie) of Leesburg, Ricky Loyd (Lindsay) of Loganville, GA, Jody Loyd (Shadonna) of Panama City Beach, FL, daughters; Deniese McKinney of Sylvester, Darlene Bell (Mike) of Sumner, Melissa White of Albany, a brother Hollis Curles of Birmingham, AL, 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Loyd was preceded in death by a son Jimmy Loyd.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Banks Funeral Home.
