SYLVESTER -- Mr. Claude Victor "Vic" DeVane, 50, of Sylvester died Sunday January 8, 2012 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta after a lengthy illness.
The funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday January 11, 2012 at Banks Funeral Home with interment to follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery with Rev. Anson Jackson, Rev. Karen Carr and Rev. Terrell Johnson officiating.
Mr. DeVane was born on February 8, 1961 in Atlanta, GA to the late Claude Fillmore DeVane and Mrs. Jean Hodges DeVane-Fernandez. He has lived in Worth County since 1963 and was the former President of Park Built Co. Mr. DeVane was a former member of the Worth County Chamber of Commerce, enjoyed his own cooking, fishing, playing golf and was of the Christian Faith.
Survivors include his wife Sherry Metzler-DeVane of Sylvester; son, Victor Bradley DeVane (Erica) of Macon; 2 grandchildren, Hartley and Braelynn DeVane; mother and step-father, Jean DeVane- Fernandez and Elio of Sylvester; brothers, Tony DeVane of Pelham, Tim DeVane (Sandi) of Bainbridge; special nieces and nephew, Amanda DeVane Price, Erica DeVane and Joshua DeVane.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Banks Funeral Home.
