COLQUITT — A drug-enforcement task force served 42 arrest warrants on 25 people including one juvenile though seven Southwest Georgia counties Thursday.
“These arrests were the result of a four-month, undercover illegal narcotics investigation conducted by the Pataula Drug Task Force,” said Fred Wimberly, Georgia Bureau of Investigation assistant special agent in charge.
The task force seized crack cocaine, marijuana and prescription pills during the arrest warrant executions, Wimberly said. It also seized a loaded Taurus 9mm caliber semi-automatic handgun and a Ruger .38 caliber revolver, he added.
Those arrested were in both genders and ranged in age from under 17 through those in their 20s, 30s, 40s to the oldest at 52.
The drug task force included area county sheriff’s office deputies, Colquitt, Donalsonville, Arlington and Edison city police officers, the GBI Sylvester office agents, and personnel from the Georgia Department of Corrections, Pardons and Parole and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
Arrests resulting from the investigation are as follows:
CITY OF ARLINGTON
Troy Eafford, 28, sale of marijuana; Michael George, 32, sale of cocaine; Bryson Johnson, 27, sale of marijuana; Sam Jones, 27, sale of schedule III narcotic and Willie Monroe, 34, sale of marijuana.
CITY OF EDISON
Alvin Jennings, 22, sale of marijuana and Antavious Johnson, 18, sale of marijuana. There also was a juvenile complaint issued for a minor for sale of cocaine.
CLAY COUNTY
Ashleigh Jimenez, age 25, sale of marijuana (two counts).
EARLY COUNTY
Chris Foster, 28, sale of cocaine; Charlie James Gilbert, 23, sale of a controlled substance; Rita Earlene Granados, 38, possession of a Schedule IV narcotic; Derrick Toshambi Lee, 34, sale of marijuana; Courtney Ofton, 24, sale of marijuana; Xavier Ofton, 29, sale of cocaine; Kelvin Thompson, 41, sale of marijuana and Eric White, 25, sale of cocaine.
MILLER COUNTY
Chaddrick O’Neal Baker, 28, sale of marijuana; Curtis A. Battle, 46, sale of schedule III narcotic; Andre Grant, 38, sale of cocaine; Henry Grant, 52, sale of cocaine; Willie C.
