ALBANY — Between 10,000 and 15,000 people came to Albany for last year’s United Kennel Club’s Coon Hunt held at the Exchange Club Fairgrounds. This year is the silver anniversary of the event’s connection with Albany.
More people are expected and the hunt organizers have asked the Exchange Club to open one of its food outlets on Jan. 26 before the hunt starts. The hunt is scheduled for Jan. 27-28.
The Exchangites are well known for their barbecue ham butts and other foods served at the yearly coon hunt. Preparations start early and proceeds from the various food outlets go to projects and community groups that combat child abuse.
