ALBANY, Ga. — Chehaw Council Boy Scout director, Ray Allen, has resigned his position with the organization as of Jan. 13, Allen said in a phone conversation Friday.
According to Allen, who had served as director for more than five years, it was time to "move on and look at further opportunities, probably in Florida." Allen declined, however, to say when a move from Albany would take place.
"I'm a Florida boy, anyway," Allen said. "We have family and friends down there and opportunities in a number of things, including scouting."
Allen's wife, Karen, serves as executive director of the Albany Symphony.
