Six Marines dead in Afghanistan

WASHINGTON (AP) — A senior U.S. defense official says all six reported killed in the crash of a U.S. helicopter in Afghanistan were U.S. Marines.

The helicopter crashed Thursday in Afghanistan's southern province of Helmand.

The defense official who said all six were Marines spoke on condition of anonymity because the U.S. command in Afghanistan had not yet publicly released details, including the nationalities of the dead.

The official says there is no indication that the helicopter was hit by enemy fire.

For all you who think peeing on the dead was shameful....Let's hear you comments on the death of these brave Marines. A war that has gone on to long and cost to many Military lives, why don't you raise your voices and your letters in a campaign to bring them all home alive. Then you would not have to concern yourselfs if they did urinate on an enemys. the generation of the 60's did it. I served the Marines for 35 years, so I am no paciifist, but a 10 year war with out a discernable plan for victory is a vietnam. It has been said that they who do not study and learn from the past, repeat the same history.
