Charles Lewis Watson

DAWSON -- Charles Lewis Watson, 75, of Leesburg, died at his residence on Friday, January 20, 2012. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at the graveside in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Dawson.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, from 12:00 Noon to 4:00 PM at his residence and visitation will be Monday, January 23, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 P. at Harvey Funeral Home.

Mr. Watson was born in Columbus, Georgia on December 23, 1936, son of the late Robert Lee Watson and Cecil Gay Watson. He was raised in Terrell County and attended schools here. He was a retired Aviation Maintenance Senior Chief Petty Officer with the U. S. Navy, having served for 20 years, and retiring in 1971.

He was preceded in death by both his parents, his former wife, Mary Katherine Barron Watson, a sister, Fulva Gay Watson, and a son, Charles Edward Watson.

Survivors include his children, Charles Lewis Watson Jr. of West Plains, MO, Russell Lee Watson and wife Dianne of Leesburg, Deborah Kay Parrish and husband Buddy of Leesburg, Katherine Ann Batesel and husband, Danny of Caulfield, MO, Susan Shea Watson-Morton and husband John of Leesburg; a sister, Betty Jo Pike of Indian Wells, CA; nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, a niece, a nephew, former wife, Shirley Preskitt Watson and lifemate and close friend, Jean Morgan.
