Allyson Spillers, a 2011 graduate of Lee County High School, has completed her first semester at Kennesaw State University with a 4.0 grade point average and was named to the President’s List.

Spillers is majoring in nurse practitioner/women’s health. She is the daughter of Phillip and Sonya Spillers of Leesburg.

Claire Elizabeth Bernard of Albany has been named to the Dean’s List for the fall quarter at Rochester (NY) Institute of Technology.

A first-year student in the Thomas Goilsano College of Computer and Information Sciences, Bernard is studying new media and interactive development.

She is the daughter of Louis and Karen Bernard of Albany and is a 2011 graduate of Lee County High School.

BAINBRIDGE — High school seniors interested in pursuing a career path in agriculture can compete for scholarships through Southwest Georgia Farm Credit which provides $8,000 in scholarship money to selected students .

Applications must be received by 5 p.m. on March 1.

Four $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to students who show a record of scholastic achievement and who, through their extracurricular activities, exemplify community spirit. High school seniors pursuing either a two- or four-year degree may apply.
