ALBANY — The Albany Fire Department and Albany Police Department are looking into what could have been an arson inside a west Albany home.

On Monday, AFD officials told law enforcement authorities they believed someone had started a fire at 1212 Avalon Ave. at 5 a.m. that morning. The home was vacant, and there was no power running through it.

The blaze is believed to have stated in the closet of the home’s east bedroom. The vinyl siding in the home next door was damaged as a result of the fire, an APD report said.

Officials are investigating the incident.

ALBANY POLICE DEPARTMENT: The Albany Police Department responded to at least 65 incidents Saturday, Sunday and into the early hours of Monday. Reports included:

— Recovered property on the 900 block of West Second Avenue and the 500 block of Gowan Avenue;

— Criminal trespass (domestic violence) on the 2000 block of West Broad Avenue;

— Driving on suspended licenses on the 2400 block of Dawson Road and the 1300 block of West Gordon Avenue;

— Burglaries on the 800 block of South Maple Street and the 3200 block of Fernridge Drive;

— Simple assault on the 800 block of Swift Street;

— Entering autos on the 2000 block of North Riverview Circle and the 300 block of Moultrie Road;

— Vandalism on the 1100 block of Colquitt Avenue and the 2400 block of Dawson Road;

— Simple battery (domestic violence) on the 2200 block of Gleneagles Drive;

— Disorderly conduct on the 2100 block of Clark Avenue and the 1900 block of South Riverview Circle;

— Thefts by taking on the 1300 block of Hobson Street and the 2600 block of Jewel Street;

— Criminal trespass on the 2300 block of Old Dominion Drive and the 2700 block of West Gordon Avenue;

— Battery on the 500 block of Dunes Avenue and the 900 block of South Street;

— Injured persons on the 2200 block of South Jackson Street and the 1000 block of East Fourth Avenue;

— Missing juvenile on the 1400 block of Avalon Avenue;

— Driving under the influence on the 900 block of Eighth Avenue and the 600 block of Springfield Drive;

— Motor vehicle thefts on the 1500 block of Lincoln Avenue and the 500 block of North Westover Boulevard;

— Reckless conduct on the 2400 block of Brierwood Drive. At 1:30 p.m. Sunday, someone reported that a gunshot had been fired into their wall. The case is under investigation.

— Criminal damage to property in the second degree on the 900 block of Willowwood Drive;

— Indecent exposure (saggy pants) on the 700 block of West Oglethorpe Boulevard;

— Wanted person on the 200 block of West Oglethorpe Boulevard;

— Financial transaction card fraud on the 200 block of Cordele Road;

— Larceny on the 600 block of Madison Street;

— Theft by shoplifting on the 2600 block of Dawson Road.
