To the squawker wanting to know the website of school system rankings: If you just Google “Georgia School System Rankings,” the first choice is from “School Digger.” The actual web address is www.schooldigger.com/go/GA/districtrank.aspx.
There is a place to type in the system you are looking for, and Dougherty comes in at No. 129 and Lee comes in at No. 20. It lists the number of students and schools in the system, too. Dougherty County schools can take comfort in knowing that Sumter County is on the last page of the list at No. 161, though, if that makes them feel any better.
I mentioned this in the comments on a Squawk of the Day back during the Christmas holidays. If you read the comments on The Albany Herald’s website (www.albanyherald.com), you will find out many things and be entertained at the same time. It is one of my favorite sites. But I warn you, if you do this, you could get addicted like the rest of us who comment.

Some people have jobs and can't sit around and be entertained by reading the comments on the Herald's website.
