ALBANY — The first Nights@Dtown event for 2012 is set for tonight in one of downtown Albany’s most historic buildings, Downtown Manager Aaron Blair said.
Albany area artists and musicians will mingle beginning at 8 p.m. in the bottom floor of the Silvers building on the 100 block of Washington Street, Blair said.
Nights@Dtown is a monthly event held at various locations throughout downtown Albany that promotes local artists and musicians. And after two months off, the free concert series is set to open back up tonight.
“It’s an opportunity for us to bring a little night life to downtown and give some of the talented local artists and musicians a cool venue to play,” Blair said.
Tonight’s event will be the first time the downtown gathering has been held at the 114 N. Washington St. Silvers building.
While the building has been vacant for years, it most recently served as a haunted house for the Albany Evening Lion’s Club.
The event will start at 8 p.m. and is free, although there will be a cash bar on site for those 21 years of age and older.
