DAWSON -- Nathan Lucius Trotter, 91, of Dawson died on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at Dawson Health and Rehabilitation. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 29, 2012 at Calvary Baptist Church with burial in the Bronwood Cemetery in Bronwood. Rev. Brian Johnson and Mr. Jesse Grimsley will officiate.
Mr. Trotter was a native of Coleman, Florida, born May 15, 1920, son of the late Craven Lafayette Trotter and Bashie Lee Webb Trotter. He was a resident of Terrell County for the past 82 years, and served in the U. S. Army during WWII from l942 until 1946. Nathan was the last charter member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon, and was very active until his health began to fail. He was retired owner and operator of Trotter Plumbing and Electric Company of Dawson. His favorite hobbies were hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents and siblings, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ethelene Beatrice Brand Trotter, who died in l998.
Survivors include his children, Cheryl T. Medders and husband Will of Villa Rica, Andy Trotter and his wife Joy of Onancock, VA; two granddaughters, Laura Medders of Villa Rica and Ashley Trotter of Onancock, VA and one great grandchild, Zoe Trotter.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Harvey Funeral Home, from 6:00-8:00 PM Memorials maybe made to the Calvary Baptist Church, P. O. Box 347, Dawson, GA 39842.
